July 6, 2015-4Cabling, Australia’s largest server rack, network cable and optical fiber e-commerce provider, has completed the acquisition of OzLighting, an online marketplace for lighting equipment, in a significant step towards expanding its business footprint.
4Cabling sells server racks, network cabinets as well as computer components and peripheral products such as wires and cables, directly to consumers at a low price. 4Cabling is Australia’s only information system website with multiple identities of manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer.
OzLighting has been established for five years and sells Australian international lighting brands. OzLighting has a wide range of lighting solutions, from chandeliers to overhead lights, especially in the area of LED spotlights and bulbs.
Jonathan Maister, Managing Director of 4Cabling, said: “There has been a lack of vendors in the lighting space that can serve both B2C and B2B, online and offline customers, and this acquisition will fill this gap so that both 4Cabling and OzLighting customers will be better served.”

“OzLighting has done a great job since its inception,” Trived says. But with the warehousing, infrastructure and after-sales services that 4Cabling has, OzLighting can take it to the next level.”
OzLighting revealed that its entire team will remain unchanged and continue to leverage its strengths in the lighting industry. Strategic partnerships with Lighting brands such as Brilliant, Mercator, Atom Lighting and PAK Lighting are also unaffected.
In addition, 4Cabling will add a commercial lighting category to its website.
Founded in 2006 by undergraduate Nicole Kersh, 4Cabling was acquired by private equity firm Gernis Holdings in September 2014 and now generates more than $10 million in annual revenue, according to public filings.
