Two, led strip light installation method

1, indoor installation:

LED strips are easy to install for interior decoration because they don’t have to be exposed to wind and rain. The back of each flexible led strip light is affixed with self-adhesive 3M double-sided adhesive tape. When installing, you can directly tear off the sticker on the surface of 3M double-sided adhesive tape, and then fix the lamp strip in the place where it needs to be installed. 2, outdoor installation:

3. Power connection method:

The general voltage of the led strip light is DC 12V, so it needs to use a switching power supply. The size of the power supply depends on the power of the led strip light and the connection length. If you do not want each LED light strip to be controlled by a power supply, you can buy a large power switch power supply as the main power supply, and then put all the LED light belt input power supply in parallel (if the wire size is not enough, it can be extended), unified by the main switching power supply. The advantage is that centralized control can be achieved, the inconvenient place is not able to achieve a single LED light with the lighting effect and switch control, the specific way to use which can be measured by yourself.

4. Controller connection mode:

LED running horse light belt and RGB full color light belt need to use the controller to achieve the effect of change, and the control distance of each controller is not the same, generally speaking, the control distance of simple controller is 10 to 15 meters, the control distance of remote controller is 15 to 20 meters, the longest can control to 30 meters distance. If the LED strip is connected over a long distance and the controller cannot control the long strip, then a power amplifier will be used to connect the strip.

5, pay attention to the led strip light connection distance:

Generally speaking, 3528 series Led strip light, its longest connection distance is 20 meters, 5050 series led strip light, the longest connection distance is 15 meters. If the connection distance is exceeded, the led strip light is easy to heat up, and the service life of the led strip light will be affected in the use process. Therefore, when installing, it must be installed in accordance with the requirements of the manufacturer, and do not let the LED lamp run with excessive load.

2, antistatic ability: antistatic ability antistatic ability of LED, long life, but the price will be higher. Usually the antistatic is better than 700V.

3, the wavelength and color temperature of the LED, the color will be consistent, this mass combination of lamps and lanterns is particularly important. Do not produce too much color difference inside the same lamps and lanterns.

4. Leakage current is the current when LED conducts electricity in reverse. We suggest using LED products with smaller leakage current.

5, waterproof ability, for outdoor and indoor LED lamp requirements are not the same.

6, LED light Angle has a great impact on LED lamps and lanterns. It requires a lot of different lamps and lanterns, such as LED fluorescent lamps. We suggest using 140-170 degrees. Others we won’t explain in detail here.

Four, LED to the two main causes of heating

1, line design problem: led strip light is currently the most commonly used specifications are 12V and 24V two kinds of voltage, 12V is 3 series multi-parallel structure, 24V is 6 series multi-parallel structure. Because the led strip light is to be connected to use, each kind of lamp belt can be specifically connected to how long, and design when the width of the line and the thickness of copper foil has a great relationship. Because the current intensity per unit area can withstand is related to the cross-sectional area of the line, if the wiring did not take this into account, then when the connection length exceeds the line can withstand the current, the lamp belt will be because of overcurrent and heat, while damaging the circuit board, but also reduce the service life of the LED.

2, production process problems: because the led strip light is a series and parallel structure, therefore, when there is a short circuit in a group of loops, it will lead to the other LED voltage rise in the same group, LED brightness will increase, the corresponding heat will also rise. The most obvious is in the 5050 lamp belt, 5050 lamp belt in any of the chip circuit has a short circuit, will cause a short circuit of the lamp current doubled, that is, 20mA into 40mA, the brightness of the lamp will become very bright, but at the same time the heat will increase sharply, serious will burn the circuit board in a few minutes. However, because this problem is relatively obscure, it is generally not paid attention to, because the short circuit does not affect the normal light of the lamp belt, if the test staff only pay attention to LED light, but do not check the brightness of the abnormal, or do not do the appearance inspection, only do the electrical test, often ignore this problem. This is why many LED strip manufacturers often encounter customer complaints that the product is hot but can not find the cause.

Solutions:

1. Circuit Design:

The loop should be as wide as possible, with a spacing of 0.5mm between lines suffice. the rest of the space should be fully lined up. The thickness of copper foil should be thickened as far as possible without violating the customer’s requirements for the total thickness of the circuit board. The general thickness is 1~ 1.5oz.

2. Production process:

A, when printing solder paste, try not to let there is even tin phenomenon between the pads, to avoid the occurrence of welding short circuit caused by bad printing;

B. Avoid short circuit during the patch;

C. Check the patch position before reflow;

D. After reflow, check the appearance of the lamp belt first to ensure that there is no short-circuit phenomenon, and then re-check the electrical test. During the re-check, pay attention to whether the LED is abnormally bright or abnormally dark after lighting up.

Five, led strip light in maintenance should pay attention to matters

1, anti-static: because LED is electrostatic sensitive components, if the maintenance of led strip light without anti-static measures, will burn out LED, resulting in waste. Note that the soldering iron must use antistatic branding iron, and maintenance personnel must also take antistatic measures (such as wearing electrostatic ring and antistatic gloves).

2, continuous high temperature: TWO important components of led strip light, LED and FPC, are not sustainable high temperature resistant products. If the FPC is in continuous high temperature or exceeds its temperature, it will make the FPC covering film bubble, directly resulting in the LED lamp strip scrap. At the same time, LED can not continue to tolerate high temperature, in high temperature for a long time, its chip will be burned out by high temperature. Therefore, the soldering iron used in the maintenance of led strip light must be controlled by temperature iron, the temperature is limited to a range, and it is forbidden to change and set casually. In addition, even if this, also need to pay attention to the maintenance of the soldering iron do not stay in the LED foot position for more than 10 seconds, if more than this time, it is likely to burn out LED chip.

3, short circuit: many led strip light is bad because there is a short circuit at the foot, must find out the real bad cause before maintenance. Otherwise, after hastily replacing the bad LED, it will continue to cause the LED chip to be broken down by the short circuit current when it is powered on again. Therefore, before replacing the new LED, we must first find out the real cause of the bad, to get twice the result with half the effort.

Six, the impact of the lamp belt price of nine factors

When shopping for LED strips, don’t just focus on price. Now teach you from the following aspects to the comprehensive assessment, in order to buy the best cost performance led strip light.

1. Chips used in led strip light: chips are domestic and Taiwan chips, as well as imported chips (including American chips, Japanese chips, German chips, etc.). The price varies greatly from chip to chip. At present, the most expensive chips are from the United States, followed by Japanese chips and German chips, and the most affordable chips are from Taiwan. What chip is used specifically? 2, LED packaging: resin packaging and silicone packaging. The price of resin package is cheaper, because the heat dissipation performance is slightly worse, the other is the same. Silica gel package heat dissipation performance is good, so the price is slightly more expensive than resin package.

3, LED color consistency: at present, there are many domestic sealing factories, large and small add up to thousands of, of course, there is the strength of the points. There are a lot of small packaging factory because there is no color separation machine, so either not color separation, or is sent out, so it is difficult to guarantee the quality. LED without color separation, its color consistency is poor, installed in led strip light lit after the effect is not so good, of course, the price difference is relatively large.

4, LED welding effect: led strip light assembly is divided into manual welding and machine welding, manual welding is to use the soldering iron, the most original way to weld. This way of operation out of the product is one of ugly appearance (solder spot size is inconsistent, flux residue, solder spot is not smooth, LED package is burned, etc.), the other is the electrostatic protection measures are not good, many LED chips were broken down, resulting in the phenomenon of bright or not bright when energized.

Machine welding is not the same, machine welding is welding with reflow welding, not only the appearance of the product after welding is beautiful (the size of the solder joint is consistent, the solder joint is smooth, helpless flux residue, LED packaging is intact), and there will be no chip by electrostatic burning phenomenon. At the same time, the LED position and direction are more beautiful. This can be seen directly from the outside.

5, FPC material: FPC calendering copper and copper coating two kinds, copper coating plate is cheaper, calendering copper is more expensive. Coppered pads tend to fall off when bent, while calendered copper does not. Specific use of which material FPC, to see the purchaser according to the use of the environment to make a decision.

6, FPC certification and patent: whether through environmental protection certification, UL certification? LED patent and so on. There are certified and patented, the price is more expensive, not the price is cheaper.

7, LED brightness: different brightness LED price is different, ordinary brightness and high brightness LED price difference is relatively wide. Therefore, when purchasing, we must clearly know what kind of brightness we need, so as to accurately position our products.

8, LED color: different color, the price is not the same. White, green due to color matching and color separation is more difficult, so the price is higher than other colors; Red, yellow, blue and other colors are easier to separate, and the consistency is better, so the price is slightly cheaper. Special colors such as purple and brown are the most expensive due to color matching.

9, LED size: different specifications and sizes of LED, the price is different. Such as 0603 LED and 1210(that is, 3528) LED, its price difference is larger; And 1210 and 5050 specifications of LED prices differ a step.
